Keeping a Memory Alive
Children's Mercy Welcomes Blish and Michael Connor to the Children's Legacy Honor Roll
At Children's Mercy, we are very fortunate to have forward-thinking donors who want to make sure the mission of Mercy continues well into the future. These special donors are members of the Children's Mercy Legacy Honor Roll.
Recently, Blish and Michael Connor made the decision to execute an estate plan and include the Cooper Connor Endowed Fund for Pulmonary Research at Children's Mercy as a beneficiary. This special fund is named in memory of their son Cooper. By including the fund, they believe this will help keep Cooper's memory alive and help kids well into the future, if not forever.
While Children's Mercy is extremely appreciative of their intent, it was surprising to learn of their plan because of their young age. According to Blish, the unimaginable experience of losing Cooper at only nine months old made them more aware of how life doesn't always work out as planned. So, with two young children to plan for, they made an appointment with an attorney who specializes in estate planning. Now they have their affairs in order and have piece of mind should the unthinkable occur.
As time goes on, they know they can revisit their will and trust and make updates as necessary. They believe their commitment to Children's Mercy, in particular the Cooper Connor Endowed Fund for Pulmonary Research, is strong and they are pleased to think about supporting it 60 plus years in the future.
As Blish and Michael continue to grow the Cooper Connor Endowed Fund for Pulmonary Research, we look to the future and say thank you for taking the steps to help ensure its presence for several years to come. It is a privilege to welcome Blish and Michael to the Children's Mercy Legacy Honor Roll.
